Spaceform

About Spaceform Gifts

Spaceform UK was introduced to the world by Christina Greenhaigh, in 1995 she pitched for the prestigious Christmas Window Display at the Top names store Harvey Nichols, with her close friend Sophie Marsham. The Window Display that she used was allowing her to show her ideas in glass, she won the contract through the magnificent work that she did. This was a great endorsement for the duo of metal work artists due to high creativeness and reliability, from there on Christina produced specialist glass pieces in several places which include yachts, private schools, homes and also store refits.

In Spaceform’s workshop, they had made products out of the left over glass that was left laying about, including the little pocket mirrors, and chunky glass hearts, spaceform tokens, spaceform frames, spaceform paperweights and sold off any of the remaining material at the Greenwich Market.  This was just the beginning of the Spaceform Collection.  Having realized that the small products had a unique appeal they decided to develop and focus on this concept in order to reach a wider audience all across the world.

The pair found a young company in China that had just started up as little as four years previously that was in the business that replicated the prototypes with a stunningly, perfect polish that has become such a signature of each Spaceform piece. Over the years they have been fortunate to grow together.  In February 1998 Spaceform launched their show piece first collection at the Spring Fair to gather retail interest and from then have grown from strength to strength.

Christina Greenhalgh joined forces with Mary O'Malley in Chicago, in bringing the whole collection and identity of Spaceform to the USA.  David Pursley of Waterlyn and his wife Sue, have also been the forces behind Spaceform in Australia, and one of their first overseas partnerships to be successful was in New Zealand with Georgie Harrison founder of Emilie.

"It is a great privilege to build on something that you enjoy so much, and at the heart of our designs and organisation we want to encourage the act of acknowledging each other. It has made a real difference in my life, from family, friends and colleagues and is what makes everything worthwhile." Christina Greenhalgh
